Coverage minimums
Fewest people required in each position, by time of day. Add as many ranges as the day needs — a break turns orange when it would drop below whatever minimum applies at that moment.
Meal compliance countdown
Washington state: a 30-minute meal period must begin before the end of the 5th hour of the shift. Each timer counts down to that deadline.
Washington State quick reference (general — verify with your store policy):
Meal period: at least 30 min when working more than 5 hours; must start between the 2nd and 5th hour.
Rest breaks: 10 min paid for every 4 hours worked; no one should work more than 3 hours without a rest break. Target typically gives 15 min, which exceeds the minimum.
Long shifts: 11+ hours worked = an additional 30-min meal period.
Rules for minors (under 18) are stricter — check separately.
